The Variable Speed Zebra is a microprocessor-controlled tool that performs the following 3 major functions with ECM (variable speed) systems:

• Diagnostics - The Variable Speed Zebra is used in-line, between the furnace control board and the motor
• Control - Exercise the system in any mode the motor can be operated in
• Set-up - Provides a digital readout of a system's CFM and RPM to assist in set-up

The unit includes two DVDs:

The VZ-6 (X-Motor Zebra) is a the long-awaited little cousin to the VZ-7; it's a less-expensive alternative for performing accurate diagnostics on X-Motor and ECM 142 Motor Systems.

It does NOT interface with 16-pin signal connector systems, but it DOES include adapters for X-Motors (X-13 and similar motors now made by at least 4 motor manufacturers) and it DOES include adapters for the new ECM Motors now being used as fan motors in better condensing units (The ECM 142 is an example of this motor).

The ZebraStat is a low-voltage HVAC/R diagnostic tool with the following primary functions:

• Up to six immediate continuity checks
• Acts as a remote control
• Visually displays signal levels on control lines
• Monitors voltage levels
• Acts as an automatically-resetting circuit breaker

The UZ-1 is able to test run a motor in one or more (up to six) speeds. It has seven LEDs and three 3-way switches. It arrives with one popular Adapter, which fits the very common GE/Regal-Beloit Series 2.0 and 2.3 motors. It is housed in a rugged, latchable case that protects the tool, the harness, and the power input clips. Inside the lid is a place for each Adapter's corresponding magnetic overlay card, which describes the functions of each switch and LED with respect to that specific motor series.
